South Dakota Health Link (SDHL) is excited to announce a new connection with Wyoming Frontier Information Exchange (WYFI).  WYFI’s primary goal is to share patient healthcare information in a secure environment to improve patient care and to reduce system inefficiencies.

Through this new connection, providers will be able to retrieve clinical summaries within the Point of Care portal through the External Query functionality.

Clinical Data Available from WYFI

  • Demographics
  • Test Results
  • Current Medications
  • Allergies
  • Other clinical information vital to care

Furthermore, this connection will allows a new way for our providers to be notified via Clinical Event Notifications (Notify) when their patient would receive care through a facility connected to WYFI.  Notify is a flexible, user-configured solution that puts the power of real-time notifications in the hands of clinicians and care managers for monitoring and reporting noteworthy care events.

Event Types

  • Inpatient Admissions
  • Inpatient Discharges
  • Inpatient Transfers
  • Emergency Room Admissions
  • Emergency Room Discharges
  • Death Notifications
  • Patient Encounter Updates
  • Ambulatory Encounters
