    The Evolving HIE Landscape – A Brief History of HIE, Emergence of Health Data Utilities, and How Civitas Networks for Health Came to Be – Jolie Ritzo & Jessica Little (CIVITAS)

    During this session, the presenters will provide a brief overview of the HIE history, discuss how the landscape of health data exchange is evolving, share how the health data utility model is developing and expanding, and provide an overview of Civitas Networks for Health, a leading national network representing HIEs, regional health improvement collaboratives, solutions partners, aligned national networks and other important data organizations.

    Re-Imagining Integrated Whole Person Care through South Dakota’s Community Information Exchange – Janet Kittams, CEO & Shauna Batcheller, Program Director (Helpline Center)

    South Dakota’s Community Information Exchange (SD CIE) is a statewide collaboration of health care, human and social service providers sharing information using an integrated technology platform and referral system to coordinate whole-person care.  In collaboration between South Dakota Department of Health, Helpline Center, and South Dakota Health Link, the SD CIE is working to build a system of care throughout South Dakota.  SD CIE’s vision is to streamline connection between health care, hum and social service providers to address social needs and advance health improvement among populations at higher risk and that are underserved.
